John is the Centre Manager at ELC Eastbourne and is responsible for all parts of our service outside the classroom. John is experienced in all aspects of leading a successful EFL centre, focusing on student outcomes, achievements and experiences. He joined ELC in 2017 and has had a varied industry experience; having taught in the UK, Japan, Spain and Italy. For the last 14 years, he has led another leading local college and was instrumental in their British Council and ISI successes. In addition to overseeing ELC Eastbourne, John is also part of the overall ELC management team, contributing to the future development of ELC and its schools in Brighton and Eastbourne.
Jenny is Academic Manager at ELC and shares day-to-day responsibility for the centre with John. Jenny joined ELC in 2013 with extensive experience in academic management. She worked for many years at IH Barcelona as Director of Studies and Head of Teacher Training. In 2006 she relocated to Brighton, UK and became Academic Director of an international organisation. Jenny is strongly involved in Teacher Development and IATEFL. She is a regular conference speaker, has written many articles and contributed to a number of published books. She also contributes to It's Magazine.
Rolf is Head of Teacher Training and Assistant Academic Manager. He joined ELC in 1985 having previously taught English in Paris and on summer courses in England. For a number of years he worked on the Cambridge DELTA course run by ELC. He has also developed and taught on our courses for overseas teachers of English and led workshops for teachers in Switzerland and Poland. He is a Cambridge oral examiner and has been involved in producing training videos for Cambridge examiners. He is particularly interested in humanistic teaching techniques and is develops on-line learning materials for the school.
Phil has overall responsibility for the charity and the 2 schools it operates - ELC Brighton and ELC Eastbourne. Day-to-day he is primarily responsible for strategic direction, administration and marketing. He is also the designated Child Protection Officer for the organisation. Phil joined ELC in 2001. He has more than 25 years' experience in ELT, as a Principal, director of studies, teacher trainer (CELTA and DELTA) and teacher in the UK, Greece, Spain and Kuwait. Phil speaks French, Spanish and some Greek.
Peter is responsible for teaching and courses across the two schools of the charity. He has more than 25 years' ELT experience in the Sudan, Spain, Brazil and the UK. He joined ELC in 1990 and has taught on the whole range of courses. He is particularly interested in business English. Before joining ELC he was the Head of ESL at a large secondary school in London for 5 years.
